Cher turns 68!
From sequin leotards and huge head dresses to films, movies and theatre, Cher has done it all!
Best known for her infectious pop songs and being one half of Sonny and Cher, it's hard to believe that the music legend turns 68 today! With a varied career, she's the original Queen of re-invention and has transcended from decade to decade.
In the 60's, Cher and husband Sonny Bono contributed to the British invasion on the music scene with their smooth folk sound, and most famously penned the track I Got You Babe.
Beyond their split in 1975, Cher went on to become an established solo artist as well as receiving critical acclaim for her acting roles in The Witches of Eastwick and Moonstruck, which earnt her an Academy Award in 1988. The following year, the release of her platinum selling album Heart of Stone left her mark on the rock scene, with tracks like If I Could Turn Back Time and I Found Someone. The California native developed her music style through R n B and Dance genres going into the 90's and 00's, with the release of the track Believe in 1998 which instantly became an anthem for her fans worldwide.
While many artists have failed to recapture the success experienced in their early careers, Cher has related to generations old and new and achieved her highest selling record in 2013 with the album Clother to the Truth. On the Billboard chart, she is currently the only artist to have a number 1 single in each of the past 6 decades!
2014 see's the singer take her 'Dressed to Kill' tour accross America, said to be the biggest and most spectacular tour to date.
