TV: The Big Bang Theory Season 7 - E4, 8.30pm

The Big Bang Theory returns this week and with a title like "The Hofstadter Insufficiency" you're guaranteed to have a laugh.

With Leonard still away, Sheldon and Penny bond over missing him and Howard helps Raj get over his break-up with Lucy.

Meanwhile, Bernadette and Amy are hit on at a hotel bar while at an out-of-town conference.

 

Cinema: The Exorcist (Director's Cut)

As part of the BFI’s Gothic season, relive the horror on the big screen at Vue cinemas tonight with the release of The Exorcist: Directors Cut. 

Often listed as one of the scariest films ever made, The Exorcist tells the chilling story of a young girl possessed by a dark and malevolent spirit. As her mother and two priests fight to save her soul they battle against the evil force with some of the most iconic images is cinematic horror.

TV: The Graham Norton Show CH 4 10pm

Elton John is head of the sofa on tonight’s show, not only chatting to the host but performing a track from his new album ‘The Diving Board’.

He’s joined by Dame Judi Dench, currently starring alongside Steve Coogan in the movie Philomena, and  popular scouse comedian.

Also stopping in is writer and broadcaster Jeremy Paxman who has recently caused a stir with his political debate with Russell Brand. 

 

Saturday 

(2nd Nov)

Event: Harrods Christmas Grotto Opens!

Santa’s Grotto will be open for business today at the prestigious Knightsbridge store, Harrods.

Children can queue up and meet the man himself to share their Christmas wishes and take away a special gift as a memento. Parents can also choose to purchase a photo of their little ones in the grotto.

Christmas may still be over a month away but it’s never too soon to start the festive cheer! 

 

Rugby: Rugby League World Cup 2013

Contested in England, Wales, Ireland and France, it's the Rugby League World Cup 2013.

In it's second week we'll see England play Ireland at 2:30pm at John Smith's Stadium in Huddersfield. The BBC will show all of England's matches in the tournament, as well as a quarter-final, a semi-final and the final on 30 November.

TV: Richard Hammond Builds a Planet - BBC1, 9.00pm

Top Gear presenter, Richard Hammond, journeys on the ultimate engineering project.

Exploring the science behind building a planet and the processes involved in piecing it together, he views his CGI Earth like world from the top of a 2 mile high tower.

Embarking on various experiments along the way (such as floating in zero gravity at the edge of space), this is a perfect TV show for all the budding scientists, or fans of Mr Hammond himself.
